About Our Products
Kimono Fabric
The kimono fabric is either cut from a bolt or unpicked from a vintage kimono. Where the fabric is sourced is written in the fabric description. All the lengths are limited as each kimono fabric is a one off. Only a single quantity of any fabric is listed at one time. I you would like more lengths of a particular fabric, please contact us on our contact page. When the fabric has been unpicked from a kimono the longest whole length is generally 150cm. However, this may change depending on the height of the person for whom the kimono was made.
01
Fabric Width
Kimono fabric widths are generally between 32cm and 38cm wide and generally will have a selvedge on both sides. The width of the fabric is narrow because it is designed to fit exactly the width of the panels of the kimono robe.
02
Fabric Length
The minimum length of fabric is 0.5 metres. We sell in 0.5 and 1 metre increments. There are a few exceptions when the fabric is sold in specified repeats or lengths. This is done so that the design is received as a completed pattern. If you would like a whole panel length that is longer that 100cm, please inquire about the total full length available using our CONTACT page.
03
Colours
We try to represent the colours of the fabrics as accurately as possible on our website. However, the colours may appear slightly differently on different computer screens.
