Hello, my name is Rachelle and I am a self confessed hoarder of fabric. I love finding new pieces that are in some way unique and unusual, and squirreling them away for future crafting.

My mother-in-law, who is now a retired kimono seamstress, shares my love of beautiful fabric. She visits pokey Japanese antique stores and sends her finds to me in New Zealand.

As I unpick each hand stitched kimono, I think about the artisan who crafted the kimono. I think about who wore the kimono and where they may have worn it. I think about each piece of fabric as it is freed from is previous form and imagine what it will be crafted into.
